"Breast cancer can hit anyone at any time and I’m sure everyone of us has known someone who is a breast cancer survivor or someone who unfortunately has not survived this dreadful disease. My mom had breast cancer and she survived 5 years. Unfortunately, her breast cancer came back and she passed away at the age of 53 within months of her second diagnoses. I do believe they are making great strides in fi nding a cure for this terrible disease and people are living longer and with the help of the breast cancer foundation and people are more aware of what must be done i.e. self-breast exams, mammogram screenings are encouraged, if there is a family history of breast cancer.

Last year our employees raised $1,007 from donations by selling 50-50’s and prize raffle tickets. Derma Sciences matched the employee donation and Derma Prizes and contributed $2,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. With that being said let’s make our 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness Event bigger and better than last year. Who knows maybe one day they will find that cure - I would love to see that happen in my lifetime- wouldn’t you?" - Barbara Benchoff
